The Elden Ring film opens on 3 March 2028, including IMAX

The Elden Ring film has a date: it premieres on 3 March 2028. It is being made for a large screen, including IMAX. Production is already underway in Scotland.

Alex Garland is directing. He is known for Civil War, and he has said before that he loves the FromSoftware game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The named cast is Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny, and Nick Offerman.

The plot is still unannounced. A24's involvement is being read as a promise of a dark, thick-atmosphere adaptation, not a bright retelling of the fights.

March 2028 is still a long way off, so the date fixes a window rather than a finished film. At this point the shoot has only just started.
