Powers: awards come if players think the game is great

In an IGN clip from 26 August 2026 at Gamescom, Will Powers said awards are a consequence if players think the game is great, not the starting goal. Make the game first, and the praise comes on its own.

Crimson Desert launched on 19 March 2026. After a restrained start in the reviews, the studio patched, added content and revised the narrative from feedback, up to a re-release as Crimson Desert Enhanced.

At Gamescom 2026 the game was nominated as the most epic project and the best PC game. Earlier there were the Develop:Star Award for the BlackSpace Engine and the title of best international game at the China Game Innovation Awards. The studio says it does not inflate expectations in advance and builds the game together with the community.
