Switch 2 Dragon's Dogma 2 aims for a 60fps feel via frame generation

Producer Naoto Oyama has spelled out performance for Dragon's Dogma 2 on Nintendo Switch 2. Handheld and docked, the base rate is 30 frames per second. Turning on frame generation interpolates a look closer to 60. The game is not rendering at 60: it runs at 30, and the smoother image comes from doubling the frames.

Oyama says the mode can leave a faint trail behind moving objects, ghosting. In his view that barely affects ordinary play, so the option stays available for people who care about the higher rate. The team also worked on the input lag that usually comes with generating frames from a 30fps base. The more frames you insert, the more obvious the delay; here they only double the frames and tune the result so the lag stays out of the way at a normal pace.

The Switch 2 version, Dark Arisen included, launches on 9 October 2026.
