The 22 September Dune: Awakening update adds solo play and ends Book 1

On 2 July 2026 Funcom showed a video about the first year of support for Dune: Awakening and outlined the next large update. It arrives on 22 September, the same day as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release.

The headline addition is a full solo mode. Players will be able to go through the game without other people and set the difficulty themselves. The studio will also close the first story arc, Book 1: Awakening, with a new chapter, continuing the plot that started with the PC launch.

The same update carries changes that already landed on PC: a reworked endgame, PvP adjustments, revised character specializations, an augmentation system, and other mechanics. Console players will see that set for the first time.

In the video Funcom looked back at the year since launch and said the game had received several large updates that changed how it plays. Dune: Awakening is already on PC. On 22 September 2026 the console release and the big content update ship together.
