Sandfall’s next game will be a small team’s experiment
After Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 landed, people expected Sandfall to grow fast and build a larger RPG. On 28 July 2026 Guillaume Broche described a different plan: get back the freedom in which the first game was made, and allow strange ideas again.
He is holding the staff at about 26 people and does not want to turn the studio into a large factory. He ties the coherence of Expedition 33 to that tight team, with less filler and fewer compromises. A sudden hiring push for a more ambitious scale would, in his view, eat that advantage.
No announce date is being given. The next project will be built around an unusual idea. The studio is leaving the safe repeat of its own hit on the shelf.
