E-Day passed 20,000 concurrent Steam players before full launch

Still in early access, Gears of War: E-Day set a series record on Steam: 20,374 people were in the game at once. That window was open to premium pre-orders and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

The previous franchise peak on the store was Gears 5, at 10,196. E-Day’s August beta had already passed 14,000.

The Coalition’s Unreal Engine 5 shooter covers Emergence Day, 14 years before the first game, when a younger Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago meet the Locust on the surface of Sera. The full release is 6 October 2026, and the concurrent count is likely to climb further by then.
