Premium Edition owners are already playing E-Day
Early access to Gears of War: E-Day is open for Premium Edition, five days before the full release on 6 October. Preload was already available on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on PC, and Steam. The Coalition developed the game and Xbox Game Studios is publishing it.
The story is set 14 years before the first game, on Emergence Day, when the Locust Horde comes up from underground. Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago are at the center again. Cover shooting is still the core, with freer movement and more vertical levels.
Beside the campaign, Horde Siege holds 12 players in three squads of four, and Versus is four against four. On consoles the campaign also supports local split-screen for two.
Premium includes the game, up to five days of early access, Bravo Squad weapon finishes, five seasonal packs starting with the Emergence Pack, and 1,000 Iron. Pre-orders add the Exfil Dom skin and the Exfil weapon color set. On PC the Unreal Engine 5 shooter supports DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, Reflex, FSR, XeSS, TSR, and Advanced Shader Delivery, meant to shorten the first shader compile. On 6 October the game also joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
