Xbox released an E-Day trailer built from critic quotes

Xbox’s official channel posted an accolades trailer for Gears of War: E-Day. The video stacks scores and short lines from outlets: “triumph,” “masterpiece,” and “the main Xbox exclusive of 2026.” A Metacritic user score of 8.8 is shown alongside them.

The clip went up on the evening of 9 October, the same day analysts were already describing modest full-price sales. Xbox is answering the conversation with a reel of praise, not with a new mode or a patch date.

The shooter launched on 6 October 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, Steam, the Microsoft Store, and Game Pass. It is a prequel set 14 years before the first game: Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago live through Emergence Day, when the Locust Horde first reaches the surface of Sera.
