A PS4 firmware flaw puts ordinary GTA Online players at ban risk
GTA Online on PlayStation 4 is having another uneasy week. A flaw in firmware 13.52 has let cheat tools into sessions, and the people at risk are not only the ones using them. Rockstar's checks watch for sudden jumps in GTA$ and RP. If someone dumps a huge sum or a stack of levels on a random player, the system can decide the victim is the cheater and issue a ban.
Dataminer Tex2 ties the window to firmware 13.52: in his account, that version can still stay on PlayStation Network even though a newer system is out. As he describes Sony's usual pattern, the previous firmware loses network access within a week or two, and researchers are asked not to publish details before then. This time the information surfaced early, so the response may come faster. There was a similar pause on PS5, when a hole in the firmware of the moment was not closed immediately.
It is not clear how quickly Sony and Rockstar will move. The practical advice is simple: if a large amount of cash or XP lands on an account out of nowhere, contact support and do not treat it as a normal reward. How the flaw works, and how people are using it, is deliberately left out here. On a live server that would be a recipe, not a news story.
