GTA V drew 2.5 million PS Plus players in 2026
Alinea Analytics has compiled a mid-year ranking of games that picked up the most unique players through PlayStation Plus in 2026. Grand Theft Auto V is sixth on that list: another return to the Extra catalog brought in about 2.5 million people. The analysts also saw a smaller jump in late August, right after the official gameplay showing of the sixth game.
Ahead of it were FC 26 with 7.8 million after a spring Essential giveaway, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 with 4.3 million after a February arrival in Extra, Grounded with 3.2 million, then Big Walk and Undisputed at about 2.8 million each. The fifth game did not lead the year, but it showed again that an old catalog hit can still gather a million-scale audience when it comes back to the subscription.
The report's point is wider than one title. For big publishers a PS Plus slot still works as advertising: Sony's service keeps bringing people in even for games that are many years old.
