An unofficial GTA V build is running in a browser tab
An unofficial browser build of Grand Theft Auto V has appeared online: the game loads in a tab, with no separate client. Several people say they got past the menu. One of them reached Franklin's first mission and drove the opening trip, then the session died with an error. There were graphical artifacts along the way, so this is not a stable version.
Browsers are uneven too. Some people could not get through the load in Firefox, while Chrome and Edge brought the page up. A tester on Linux saw about 4.5 GB of memory taken by the browser. There are also reports of it starting through Chrome on a phone, but on Android other people get a black screen.
Where the project came from is unclear. There is no public repository and no real technical write-up. The site's domain was registered only on 3 October 2026, and it has nothing to do with Rockstar. For now it is a side experiment, not a release of the game. The address and the way to start it are not included here.
