Shawn Fonteno calls the Kai Cenat dispute a mix-up

Shawn Fonteno, Franklin in GTA V, says the public dispute with streamer Kai Cenat is over. Before that, on the Dope As Usual podcast, he had accused Cenat of leaving a promise to a child as just words.

The story comes from a shared out-in-the-city stream around Los Angeles. The group stopped at a cramped apartment where about fifteen people were living. A boy asked for a children's motorcycle in the range of $1,000 to $1,200, and Cenat said on the stream that they would do it. Fonteno's version is that in the following weeks, before the holidays, neither the streamer nor his managers picked up. The actor said he felt ashamed in front of the child, spoke sharply about wealthy creators and declared he would never do another stream with Kai.

After the interview went out, Fonteno wrote on social media that Cenat had called him and they had talked it through. He framed what happened as an honest mix-up and made it clear, briefly, that the matter was settled. The streamer himself has not publicly commented on buying the gift. Fonteno is back in GTA V in the meantime: with his old castmates he is playing through the game again while there is still time before the sixth one.
