Ned Luke starts a GTA V playthrough with Ogg and Fonteno

Ned Luke, who plays Michael, has started a series called The Final Mission: a nostalgic playthrough of GTA V with the people who gave the game its faces and voices. The first episode is with Steven Ogg, Trevor. Shawn Fonteno, Franklin, joins for the second.

The debut replays the snowy North Yankton prologue and the first session with Dr. Friedlander. They talk about long shoots in motion-capture suits, the script's satire of American life, and how overdue a proper film about making the fifth game is. Ogg said he had seen pieces of the recent extended gameplay of the sixth game. Both agreed the hair, teeth and facial animation there have moved so far that GTA V looks old beside it. Ogg promised to come back when the story reaches Trevor's full arrival in Blaine County.

The second episode moves into Franklin's opening jobs and the repossessions for Simeon Yetarian's dealership. Fonteno remembers how hard the first days on set were, and how he was helped to turn dialogue written by Brits into living street speech. The sharpest story is a real crash on the way to the studio: the driver fell asleep and hit a barrier, Luke left a print of his makeup on the headrest, and a colleague broke his nose. They still went back to the shoot the same day after the emergency room.

Luke confirmed they want to carry the series through to the campaign credits before the sixth game launches. Later episodes are set to include Danny Tamberelli (Jimmy), Jay Klaitz (Lester), Slink Johnson (Lamar) and Julian Gamble (Agent Dave Norton).
