Shawn Fonteno says he plans to fly to Moscow in December

Shawn Fonteno, who supplied both the voice and the face of Franklin in GTA V, said on a podcast that he has been offered appearances in Russia on 3, 4 and 5 December. He called the fee good, and the destination the part that made him stop and check.

He says he specifically looked up whether the trip is considered safe. Search results and advisories from the US State Department, the Canadian government and the UK Foreign Office recommend against traveling there, and that is what is holding him back. He still plans to fly. He says he has been warned off other places before, was welcomed when he got there, and found language the only real obstacle.

The dates line up with Comic Con in Moscow, but neither the actor nor the festival organizers have officially confirmed that he is on the bill. Since GTA V came out in 2013, Fonteno has already been a regular guest at fan conventions.
