The PC version of Hello Kitty Island Adventure is now on Steam
On 30 January 2025 the PC edition of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, from Sunblink, opened on Steam. Console releases were still described as coming afterward.
You build a character — a cat, a dog, or a bird — and set about restoring an abandoned island. Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and other Sanrio residents show up along the way; you can run errands for them, bring gifts, and hear their stories. Eight regions stretch from the sea to the mountains, each with its own puzzles.
Home, outfits, and furniture are all yours to assemble. Friends and family can join in multiplayer. The activity list also covers cooking and crafting, short platforming trials, and a hunt for rare finds, including photos of Gudetama.
The title matches a made-up game from a South Park episode, but this release is unrelated to that story. It is its own Sanrio adventure, closer to a quiet island life in the vein of Animal Crossing and to exploration in the spirit of Zelda.
