Hellraiser: Revival's first Steam day: 8,317 players and 96% positive

In the first day after the 8 October release, Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival peaked at 8,317 concurrent players on Steam. By the time the count was taken, buyers had left 906 reviews: 878 positive and 28 negative, about 96%. Steam's label for that ratio is Overwhelmingly Positive.

The written reviews most often praise the bleak atmosphere, the sound, the Cenobite designs and the brutal fights, and they say the game keeps the tone of the Hellraiser world. Players also single out the Genesis Configuration abilities, exploration and hidden pieces of lore. The complaints that keep coming back are performance drops, an uneven third act, a resource balance that turns arguable near the end, and a story that lands with less feeling than some people expected.

Over the same day the Saber Interactive horror reached 10th among Steam's top sellers and passed 30,000 followers on its store page. On Twitch, concurrent viewers of Hellraiser: Revival streams peaked above 124,000.

It is a single-player game in first person. The player controls Aidan Lynch, uses the Genesis Configuration and tries to get Sunny out, with Pinhead and his followers in the way.
