The Final Ascent is out, and PEAK’s major content updates stop here
On 12 August 2026 Aggro Crab released The Final Ascent, the last large update for PEAK. Aggro Crab and Landfall are turning to the console version next, rather than another stretch of map.
The late route now has Gloom and The Citadel. They rotate with the existing Caldera and Kiln. A new climb sits there too, and the studio calls it the hardest the game has had. The seventh trial was rewritten: a downed teammate can be brought back, but the party takes a curse, so a rescue is no longer free. New gear in the patch includes a jetpack and a glider. The developers also left one secret undescribed on purpose.
That is not a full stop on the game. Technical patches and bug fixes will continue, and further large content updates should not be expected: both studios want to get back to their next projects. Consoles are promised with cross-play, and the details are due before the end of 2026. The teams also said post-launch support took far more time than they had planned.
