Galactic Racer online tours put 12 pilots through five races
A new overview shows how online play works in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer. As many as twelve pilots start together: you and eleven others.
The two headline formats are Multiplayer Tour and Podracing Tour. In each, players run five races and pick up parts and upgrades along the way. The finale depends on the tour and is held on either Derven Acos or Tatooine.
Before the flag you pick a character with their own traits — more of them unlock as you level — and one of three vehicle types. Contracts, a prediction of your own finish, and calling out a specific rival mid-race all change the payout. A higher place means rarer parts. Betting on a top-three finish pays a much richer prize if you actually get there.
The game is set for 6 October on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
