Tempest Rising expansion The Veti's Wrath arrives 29 September

On 14 September 2026 Slipgate Ironworks, 3D Realms, Knights Peak, and Saber Interactive set the day: the paid expansion The Veti's Wrath launches on Steam for PC on 29 September 2026. It was first shown in July alongside a public demo, and this date comes with a new gameplay trailer on YouTube.

Buyers get a single-player campaign of 11 long missions. The Veti are an ancient, ruthless people who ruled the world before humanity. After the devastating Tempest Wars they slipped into hiding and nearly died out. The awakened lord K'uhul the Immutable now leads them into a war of reprisal: destroy humankind, take back stolen technology, and burn out the corruption within.

The campaign costs money, but the faction itself will be free for every owner of base Tempest Rising, in multiplayer and in bot skirmishes. Matchmaking then stays one pool instead of splitting buyers of the expansion from everyone else.

In battle the Veti treat enemy troops as raw material. The fallen are subjugated into mindless Enlightened on the field, then sacrificed to strengthen allied squads, charge war machines faster, and trigger abilities. At the heart of a base stand Ascension Anchors, obelisks that take in biomass and feed energy to the buildings around them. The roster is 9 buildings, 7 war machines, 6 infantry types, 5 aircraft, 5 specialists, 5 turrets, 5 global support powers, and one superweapon. The striking vehicles called out are the War Ender walker and the stealthy Phantom Artillery.

Slipgate Ironworks says the third side is meant to feel unlike the human armies, and that the team is proud of the campaign. The base game plus the expansion needs about 50 GB, and the developers recommend an SSD. The recommended hardware is an Intel Core i5-11700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB or a Radeon RX 7600 XT with 16 GB. The game launched in spring 2025, and the Unreal Engine 5.4.4 map editor and Steam Workshop were already in place. The Steam note is here.
