Tempest Rising announces The Veti's Wrath and a free demo

On 10 July 2026 publisher 3D Realms and developer Slipgate Ironworks revealed The Veti's Wrath, a story expansion for Tempest Rising. The PC release is planned before the end of 2026. The new side can be tried immediately: a free demo is already on Steam.

The campaign is 11 missions about the ancient Veti. They awoke as a red substance spread across Earth. The player leads their army back toward dominion of the world and tries to turn the war against humanity.

The faction roster is 9 unique buildings, 7 vehicle types, 6 infantry types, 5 flying units, 5 defensive structures, 5 specialists, 5 support powers, and one superweapon. The story campaign will be sold separately, with the price announced later. In matchmaking, custom lobbies, and AI skirmishes, Veti will be free for everyone who owns the base game.

The demo includes the first two Veti story missions and the first two missions each for the Global Defense Force and the Tempest Dynasty. Online, it offers bot battles and custom matches on four maps of different sizes, for 2 to 6 players. The announcement is on Steam, and the trailer is on YouTube.
