Alinea puts Requiem revenue at $500 million, led by PlayStation

Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott estimates gross revenue for Resident Evil Requiem at $500 million. On the pace of that money the game is already ahead of earlier entries. He expects it can eventually pass the Resident Evil 4 remake, whose lifetime revenue is above $600 million.

The same Alinea estimate counts 8.5 million copies across Xbox, PS5 and Steam. PlayStation accounts for 48.1%, Steam for 43.4% and Xbox for 8.6%. On PS5, 30.8% of sales were physical. Against the 8.5 million total, that is more than 4 million PlayStation copies and about 1.2 million discs.

For Capcom it extends an already strong run. The company has reported record game sales for the last fiscal year and wants to beat that number in the current one. Older releases still bring in a long tail, through regular discounts and catalog support, especially on Steam.
