72.8% of Requiem players on Steam have finished the story
Resident Evil Requiem, released on 27 February 2026, has the highest rate of players reaching the credits of any game in the series on Steam and PlayStation 5. The Steam achievement «Агент-новобранец», awarded for finishing the story on any difficulty, sits at 72.8% of owners.
For scale: the Resident Evil 4 remake is at 60.4% on Steam and 54.7% on PS5. Village is at 58.3% and 39.6%. The Resident Evil 3 remake is a little above 50% on Steam, the Resident Evil 2 remake is at 51% for Leon and 36.4% for Claire, and Resident Evil 7 has historically sat around 47%.
Developers and the write-ups point to two design choices. Grace Ashcroft’s chapters are hide-and-escape horror, Leon S. Kennedy’s chapters are aggressive action, and the switch in pace keeps players from burning out on one mode. The camera can flip between first and third person. Capcom has said that option answered Resident Evil 7, where first person was the only view and some people quit because it frightened them.
HowLongToBeat puts the main story at about 11 hours, in line with the other games, so the finish rate is not a side effect of a short campaign. At launch the figure was already about 60%. Half a year later it is a series record.
