The base PS5 image is about 1080p, and Pro is carried by PSSR
Pearl Abyss gave Digital Foundry the Crimson Desert settings for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro next to PC. On paper the performance modes of the two consoles are close. The difference is model quality, post-processing, weaker light on the base model and narrower ray tracing.
Digital Foundry says the issue is not the settings lines but the final image. The base PS5 runs at about 1080p with simple upscaling, and TAA makes the frame muddier. The interface appears to be at that resolution too. On Pro the internal resolution is not high, but PSSR, extra graphics power and 4K output make a cleaner frame.
The analysis concludes that how the image is reconstructed matters as much as the resolution it is drawn from. A small settings change produces a jump larger than the table suggests.
