Kadokawa kept Elden Ring on the 2026 Switch 2 slate
In the report for the financial year that ended on 31 March, Kadokawa confirmed that Elden Ring for Nintendo Switch 2 had not been delayed. Together with The Duskbloods, the game is still planned for 2026. Both are described as core projects for an international audience.
For the current year the holding company expects revenue of 31.2 billion yen. Operating profit is forecast lower, at 4.5 billion yen. The company ties that drop directly to a large cycle of investment.
The year just closed was weaker than the one before. Revenue was 29.78 billion yen, down 11.4%. Operating profit was 7.54 billion yen, down 20.9%. The report explains the fall by a high base: the previous year was lifted by Elden Ring and its expansion, and that mark is hard to repeat.
Ahead, the holding company lists 27 new games for PC and consoles and 4 mobile projects. Spike Chunsoft plans to lean on familiar series, Danganronpa first of all. Talk of an awkward investor still surrounds the holding company, but the calendar for Elden Ring and The Duskbloods on Switch 2 does not change in this document.
