A leaked stream praises the combat and faults the inventory and story
Spanish creator Revenant, in an account of a stream that was later taken down, called Crimson Desert an uncut stone. He compares combat to slashers such as Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden inside an open world: grabs depend on position, and an enemy can be used with a tree like a slingshot. It is not a soulslike, but he thinks the rhythm takes about eight hours. He puts the score next to The Witcher 3, the scale next to Shadow of the Colossus, and the nights next to Dragon’s Dogma.
His main complaint is the inventory. Quest items stay in slots after the task, the camp has no bottomless chest, and the bank works as a currency exchange. Corpses vanish when the last enemy in a camp dies, so loot has to be taken during the fight or one enemy left alive. Story and dialogue are better than Black Desert, but not at the level of The Witcher 3 or Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
He had spent more than 50 hours and was still inside the starting region. He guessed the press would land around 80–85 on Metacritic because of the learning curve and the inventory, and that players who want the combat would feel closer to 95. This text dates launch to 20 March 2026. It is one streamer’s impression, not a studio review.
