Patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3 remaster is out on PC, PS5, and Xbox
CD Projekt RED released free patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. It is out now on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Automatic blade oils are no longer limited to the current session. A fault that let player-controlled boats start moving on their own and pass through surfaces, in specific cases, is fixed. After an Aard finisher Geralt no longer collides with corpses, dodges no longer fire with an extra delay, and sprinting and dodging together no longer drain all stamina. Exploding Shield now reflects damage, Synergy no longer shows the wrong numbers, and Vesemir no longer repeats the same line on every Quen.
On consoles, the graphics menu gained Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field. Performance work includes corrected frame-rate limits on the base PS5, and settings no longer reset on every launch. Voiceover that became much quieter than the rest of the audio after pause-menu tabs is fixed on consoles as well. Ukrainian text is now available in every region.
On PC, dynamic resolution is off by default, DLSS and XeSS no longer enable on GPUs that do not support them, and a wrong-GPU selection is fixed. The visual pass adjusts bloom, tone mapping, character lighting, ray tracing, and path tracing. My Rewards, Twitch Drops, and Bilibili Drops that missed the chest in Vizima when it had already been opened should appear. Some items may be duplicated; the studio says to treat that as a bonus. A fault that could damage saves is fixed, with recovery for files already affected. Foliage reacts to collisions again. The policy consent screen will show once more, and the settings need to be confirmed again.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version is not in this patch. A separate update is in progress, with the same shared changes plus image clarity and sharpness closer to the other versions. The studio said more detail would follow within days.
