The Cyberpunk card game became Kickstarter's biggest tabletop
The Cyberpunk Trading Card Game from WeirdCo and CD Projekt Red first broke the record for card campaigns, then by 1 April passed every tabletop game in Kickstarter's history. At the time of the report the total was above 15 million dollars, against a goal of 100,000. The project crossed one million within five minutes of opening.
WeirdCo co-founder Elliot Cook wrote that too many eyes are now on the team and that staying modest matters. For him, community means a safe place to play away from resellers. The TCG industry, he said, has lost its soul in recent years, and WeirdCo wants to listen to players.
Michał Nowakowski congratulated the team and the backers on the milestone of the joint project. Sixteen days remained in the campaign. The first sets were promised to backers in the third quarter of this year.
The record is not only the money. A Night City card game overtook the platform's entire tabletop catalog.
