PS5 Pro ray tracing is close to PC, but global light still trails
Ray Tracing Pro on PS5 Pro improves shadows, global illumination, and selected reflections. A direct comparison with PC shows console shadows and reflections sitting close to maximum PC settings, while global light is still stronger on PC, especially with full ray tracing.
In a test of an RTX 5060 Ti with settings matched to Pro, the console can edge the card without frame generation. The PC build turns ray tracing on more broadly: ray reflections cover every surface, not a selection. The console does not have that mode.
At 1440p the gap between PSSR and DLSS is smaller. Upscaling on the two platforms looks comparable, even though the hardware differs.
The conclusion is careful. The Pro patch is impressive as a console ceiling, but it does not replace the PC effect set.
