Update 1.5 opens a full solo mode in Dune: Awakening

On 18 September 2026 Funcom released update 1.5 for Dune: Awakening, the largest since launch. It adds a full solo mode, console support, and the end of the first book’s story. The studio used to insist this was a survival MMO and that a separate solo game was not coming. Player demand won: all of Arrakis, the story lines, and the rewards are now available offline. Funcom posted the update note on Steam.

Several systems were rebuilt for playing alone. The exchange became an ordinary shop, so the stock no longer depends on other players. AI guilds run the Landsraad, which keeps the competition without requiring live rivals. Coriolis storms no longer wipe progress deep in the desert.

The options are broad. Almost everything can be tuned, from how harsh survival is to how fast spice prices climb.

From the same day the game is also open on consoles. Deluxe and Ultimate editions are already in early access; everyone else gets the console release on 22 September.
