Patch 1.5.15.0 lets solo and private Dune: Awakening servers skip BattlEye

On 30 September 2026, update 1.5.15.0 for Dune: Awakening reached the public test client. For testing, Funcom points players to the progress-unlock panel that exists only on the PTC: it can grant resources, gear, experience, journey chapters, faction ranks, and crafting materials. Discussion is in a dedicated Steam section and on the test client’s Discord. The full change list is in the Steam patch notes.

Along with game and server stability, the patch lets the client start without BattlEye installed or enabled in solo play, and on private and self-hosted servers where the anti-cheat is not required. On servers that use BattlEye, the protection is still mandatory: a connection without it fails, and the client returns an error.

The speed penalty on a scout ornithopter fitted with a rocket-launcher module dropped from 20 percent to 10 percent. The number may still move during the PTC, for both the scout and the assault ornithopter. A crash that could hit when placing a large base with the reconstruction tool was fixed. In the newer combat feel, a shielded enemy leaves more time for a heavy attack before striking back. Story and journey progression received a further set of fixes.
