Xbox switched the COG dog-tag generator back on for E-Day

Ahead of the Gears of War: E-Day release, Xbox turned the COG Tag web generator back on. The tool builds an avatar as a named Coalition of Ordered Governments dog tag that can be used as a profile image.

The picture is uploaded in account settings in place of the current avatar, and it can be cropped there. A matching profile banner is offered in the same style.

The Coalition’s full release is 6 October 2026 on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The prequel follows Emergence Day through a younger Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago, on Unreal Engine 5. Premium editions are already playable, and on launch day the game joins Xbox Game Pass.
