Sarzyński says first person fit the story of 2077

Igor Sarzyński explained why Cyberpunk 2077 stayed in first person even though players asked for a camera like The Witcher 3. On the story side, he said, the angle matches the plot: you are a mind inside a body that is failing, and the way out is technology. Johnny's digital ghost exists in your head, not in an objective camera behind you.

That is not a claim that third person is worse. For Geralt, Kratos, or Ellie, he said, an external camera fits, because you live someone else's already defined story. V sits between an avatar and that kind of hero.

He separately cut off guesses about the sequel. The comments about camera angle are not a hint about Cyberpunk 2. The next game, he joked, could in theory be a turn-based strategy made of clay if the story called for it.

For 2077 the choice is already made: seeing through V's eyes matters more than the familiar portrait of a hero from behind.
